Jamieson Profile

Michelle is a cross-disciplinary ESRC-funded PhD candidate in the department of Urban Studies at the University of Glasgow. Her research, centred around the impact of health on (un)employment during austerity and vice versa, aims to look at this in the context of womanhood, poverty and psychosis in Glasgow. Michelle graduated from the University of the West of Scotland with a First-Class B.A (Hons) in Psychology (2014), from the University of Glasgow with a MSc in Global Mental Health (2015), and completed her most recent MRes in Research Methods in 2017.

1. What year of your study are you in?

I’m in the first year of my PhD, (sixth overall) in the department of Urban Studies at the University of Glasgow. I’ll also be part of Neighbourhoods, Welfare, and Wellbeing research group, as well as the Psychosis research group within the University.
